Mount Tabor Cemetery
The Mount Tabor burial site is in the triangle created by County Roads 156 & 157 and FM 2012. It's on private property and you must have permission from the owners before visiting. There are no tombstones evident at this cemetery, only sinks from the old graves. It is
believed that about 40 people were buried here from about 1845 to about 1866.
There is a list of presumed burials at
Cemeteries of Texas,
researched by J C Thompson, former Tribal Chairman of the Mount Tabor Indian Community.
